Last weekend was a long weekend and I was lucky enough to go up to my cottage. There was plenty of snow, and lots of friends, which meant I had a great time. This weekend I am going to see the final tour of Swedish House Mafia and I am super excited about that. They are an amazing group and I’m sure their live show won’t disappoint! Here are some of my favourites from this week.

favourite decor: white with coloured pops

I love planning parties and events – it’s part of the reason why I am in a PR program right now. When I have my own house one day, I will definitely be the person who goes a little over board for casual dinners just because I can. I think table settings and centre pieces are a really fun, cheap, and easy way to make dinner a little more special. Below are some awesome DIY centre pieces.

Last weekend I was in NYC, this weekend the boyfriend and I are headed to Niagara Falls! Travel – it really does a person good. Though I haven’t been on a trip longer than a week in a very long time, these shorter little jaunts have really keep my spirits up over the past few years. Yesterday I started a part-time internship at a large fashion company downtown Toronto. Though I spent the majority of the day media searching and unloading samples upon samples of clothes, I felt a little like Lauren Conrad in her early Teen Vogue days. There is something to be said about working in an environment where everyone shares a common interest – fashion – and where I actually get to put my PR schooling into play.

Even with the growing popularity of ebooks, and ebook readers, I am still one of those people like prefers to buy a hardcopy of the majority of my books. Why? There is just something about holding a book in your hands, and being able to turn all the pages, that I still really love – and I love to display my books on my bookshelf when I’m finished reading them! Books are like art, and they can be displayed in a similar way. Like coffee table books, they really can breathe some life into a room and really act as a conversation starter. Below are some awesome ways to display your book collection!

Hurray for Fridays! This weekend I am heading downtown for a dinner with some friends and my boyfriend, and am hoping to go rock climbing during the day on Saturday. I also really want to head to a pumpkin patch and pick up a few pumpkins – I want to carve one (because it is tradition!), but I also really want to paint a few little ones. I also am on the hunt for halloween costume ideas.

Favourite Food: gingerbread cupcakes.

Favourite Decor: gold dipped vases.
