friday favourites.

Last weekend I was in NYC, this weekend the boyfriend and I are headed to Niagara Falls! Travel – it really does a person good. Though I haven’t been on a trip longer than a week in a very long time, these shorter little jaunts have really keep my spirits up over the past few years. Yesterday I started a part-time internship at a large fashion company downtown Toronto. Though I spent the majority of the day media searching and unloading samples upon samples of clothes, I felt a little like Lauren Conrad in her early Teen Vogue days. There is something to be said about working in an environment where everyone shares a common interest – fashion – and where I actually get to put my PR schooling into play.

Here are some of my favourites from this week!

favourite read: rules of civility.

favourite decor: accent wall.

favourite smile: puppy!

favourite words:

chevron.

I love patterns – especially mixing patterns in outfits or rooms. A great accent to any living space is some sort of a pattern feature. Accent pillows are an easy way to incorporate a pattern into a room, but for those more daring, there are tons of other ways to create feature spots using patterns in a space. One pattern I am adoring right now is chevron. It’s classy, timeless, and really bold. Below are a few ways I would love to use chevron in a house – if I had a whole house to re-do!

chevron floor.

chevron art piece.

chevron bedspread.

chevron chair.
